Mathematicians converged at Makerere University for the third East African Universities Mathematics Program Conference. The conference beginning on the 26th October and ending on the 28th October 2016 is hosted by the Department of Mathematics, College of Natural Sciences of Makerere University.

The conference theme is, ‘Advances in Mathematics and its Applications’ and its goals are: To celebrate the achievements of the EAUMP through Paper and Poster presentations of research findings by senior academics in the region and beyond; To stimulate regional and international collaboration in training, research and outreach; To provide a forum for interaction of African Mathematicians and others from outside Africa with a view of sharing experiences in mathematical training, research and outreach activities; and to evaluate the EAUMP since 2002.
