The Department through the Uganda Mathematics Society organises a number of activities to promote and popularize Mathematics as a subject.

A two round National Mathematics Contest for all students from Primary to University is always organised and concluded with a colourful prize giving ceremony. Winners are awarded several prizes ranging from various scholastic materials to scholarships and finally a National Mathematics Quiz to crown the prize giving ceremony.
